Health and Beauty with Jenipher Toussaint

By Alex Popa

Jenipher Toussaint sees herself as an ambitious, energetic, and positive-charged woman with larger-than-life goals and a unique vision of the future. Haitian-born, she currently lives in New York, so she’s aware of the cultural differences between her native country and her adoptive one. These cultural changes have allowed Jenipher to shape her view of the world and given her a deeper understanding of what makes societies function.

Although she lives away from her home country, Jenipher can never forget where she started her journey. “It makes me feel proud to be a Haitian, and it makes me want to show the world what kind of country Haiti really is. In a way, it makes me want to make an impact on my country in some way.”

Work, Goals, Accomplishments

Jenipher currently works full-time in customer service, but she also takes on weekend modelling gigs. These allow her to express her personality and physical talents, which she’s confident will open doors for her in the future. You can quickly tell that Jenipher knows exactly what she wants in life: “I want to be a successful model and entrepreneur, modeling for some well-known brands and managing my own businesses.”

When it comes to personal accomplishments, Jenipher has a lot to talk about. Her biggest coup was her ability to overcome her depression, which started a new era in her life. This allowed her to unleash her full potential and explore the opportunities that awaited her, which is why she eventually started her own skincare business.

She hopes to capitalize on her newfound strength of character and determination. “I want to prioritize my mental health, build myself into a brand, heal my inner child, and open a recreation center in Haiti. I also want to learn more about the business world so I can properly build and relaunch a successful business.”

“I want to shed light on the importance of mental health in young Haitian women,” she says. “It’s important to take care of yourself, to speak good things into yourself and into the world. Simply being kind and joyful can go a long way.”

A Message for the Younger Generations

Jenipher doesn’t shy away from detailing her battle with depression and mental health, and she uses her experience in this area to motivate young Haitians. “I want to shed light on the importance of mental health in young Haitian women,” she says. “It’s important to take care of yourself, to speak good things into yourself and into the world. Simply being kind and joyful can go a long way.”

She also acknowledges that any type of change within the Haitian culture can only come from the newer generations. Their energy, positive thinking, and determination are the only things that can catapult Haiti onto the world stage in terms of education, opportunities, and cultural impact.

Jenipher Toussaint hopes to make an impact in this sense – and have fun while doing it.
