Who is Adajah F. Codio?
Adajah F. Codio is a Miami-based event and portrait photographer whose lens captures far more than just images—it tells stories. Born and raised in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, Codio has called the United States home for more than a decade. His journey is one of resilience, vision, and purpose.
Outside of photography, Codio is a proud father, a construction management professional, and a lifelong learner. His creative spirit thrives in nature and music, especially the dream of playing the bass guitar.
Whether watching a sunrise at the beach or documenting a milestone, Codio approaches life with the same passion: to preserve beauty and meaning.
His photography brand, AFC Photography, has been part of the South Florida creative scene since October 2011. The mission is simple yet profound—“Capture memories that will last forever,” says Codio.
Codio doesn’t just snap pictures; he builds connections with clients, telling their stories through authentic, timeless images.
Education and Professional Achievements
Codio’s academic path reflects discipline and determination. Arriving in the U.S. without English fluency, he started his studies at Miami-Dade College and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Florida International University. This accomplishment is a testament to his persistence and adaptability.
“My academic journey has been a testament to discipline and perseverance,” says Codio.
Before fully immersing himself in photography, Codio’s construction management background shaped his attention to detail, organization, and ability to perform under pressure.
He has worked on residential, commercial, and road construction projects in both the public and private sectors. These experiences honed the skills—project coordination, problem-solving, and reliability—that he now applies to running his photography business.
In his photography career, Codio has built AFC Photography into a respected brand specializing in events, portraits, commercial shoots, and lifestyle sessions. His approach blends technical expertise with a deep understanding of visual storytelling, creating work that resonates on both emotional and aesthetic levels.
Clients value his professionalism, quick turnaround, and in-depth knowledge of South Florida’s best locations, from hidden gems to iconic backdrops.

“I’ve been a professional photographer for 10-plus years. What I love most is the genuine joy on my clients’ faces when they see their final images”, says Codio.
Plans for the Future
For Codio, the journey is just beginning. His vision for AFC Photography over the next three to five years is ambitious and community-centered. Plans include opening a dedicated photography studio in South Florida—a creative hub where clients can feel welcomed and inspired. He also aims to expand into video and multimedia services, giving clients more ways to preserve their memories.
Investing in the latest technology is a priority, ensuring that AFC Photography remains at the forefront of quality and innovation. Codio also intends to deepen community relationships, reflecting the cultural diversity that defines Miami in every project.
“What sets AFC Photography apart is a commitment to a personalized, client-first experience. You are never just another client; you are the subject of a story that deserves to be told with care and intensity,” says Codio.
Beyond photography, Codio is venturing into entrepreneurship in a new way. Drawing from his construction management expertise, he is in the process of launching a general contracting company.
How Does Adajah F. Codio Help the Haitian Community?
Codio’s Haitian roots are a central part of who he is and how he runs his business. He proudly markets AFC Photography to the Haitian community, understanding the traditions, cultural significance, and deep emotions tied to their celebrations. His fluency in both English and Haitian Creole allows him to communicate authentically, ensuring clients feel understood and respected.
The most effective marketing tool, he says, has been word-of-mouth referrals within the community—a reflection of trust built through professionalism and care. Social media has also been key, with Codio sharing highlights from Haitian events that resonate deeply with his audience.
But Codio’s connection to his community goes beyond business. Giving back is a cornerstone of his life. He partners with organizations such as Beta Tau Zeta Sorority, providing photography services to celebrate and support young girls preparing for college.
He also donates his time and talent to local nonprofits and cultural events, particularly those focused on youth empowerment and preserving Haitian heritage.
Through his work, Codio aims to inspire the next generation of Haitian creatives to believe in their vision and pursue it with confidence. His photography is not only an artistic endeavor but also a form of representation—showing the richness, beauty, and resilience of Haitian culture.
For Codio, the camera is more than a tool; it’s a bridge. It connects him to people, preserves their histories, and uplifts his community. His ultimate goal is to leave behind a legacy of storytelling that will matter for generations to come.
From the streets of Cap-HaĂŻtien to the vibrant neighborhoods of Miami, Adajah F. Codio has carried his passion, discipline, and creativity across borders and industries.
Whether he is managing a construction project, capturing a wedding, or mentoring young creatives, his work reflects a single guiding belief: every moment has value, and every person deserves to be remembered.
