Guech-Léus Marcelus, born in Acul-du-Nord, Haiti, currently resides in Port-au-Prince. The Haitian experience deeply roots her journey, and her inspirations reflect her admiration for resilience and courage.
Among the people who have inspired her are her mother, whom she views as a model of strength and perseverance; Oprah Winfrey, for her courage and tenacity; and J.K. Rowling, who overcame obstacles to achieve her dreams. Being Haitian is at the core of who Guech-Léus is.
Education and Professional Aspirations
Guech-Léus is currently studying education sciences at the Center de Formation pour l’École Fondamentale (CFEF). Her passion for education extends beyond her studies; she is deeply committed to improving access to education in Haiti.
In addition to her studies, she co-founded CORE-Succès Haiti, an organization that promotes education across the nation. Her future vision entails establishing an agency that promotes education, encourages reading, and heightens awareness about the detrimental effects of school bullying.
Accomplishments
One of Guech-Léus’ proudest accomplishments is the founding of CORE-Succès Haiti, a milestone she achieved within the past year. CORE-Succès Haiti dedicates itself to advancing education and empowering young people through learning. Through this organization, Guech-Léus hopes to inspire a generation of Haitians to believe in the transformative power of education.
Additionally, she is the manager of Gueshie Art et Décor (GADE), a company that specializes in event planning and the creation of artisanal products such as crochet items, bracelets, and handbags. GADE showcases her creative talents and passion for promoting Haitian culture through craftsmanship.
Future Goals
Looking ahead, Guech-Léus has ambitious plans. Over the next year, she will focus on expanding her business while continuing to share her artisanal knowledge through summer camps and workshops. Her long-term goals include establishing an orphanage to provide support for vulnerable children in Haiti and expanding her influence as an advocate for education, both through her professional work and her creative pursuits.
She also hopes to pursue a career in modeling, using the platform to promote education and ecological values.
Haitian pride and talent
One of Guech-Léus’ favorite aspects of being Haitian is the rich cultural heritage that combines influences from Africa, Europe, and the Americas. This fusion of cultures, in her view, creates a unique and beautiful identity that he is proud to represent.
In terms of talents, Guech-Léus is highly skilled in artisanal creation, particularly in crafting handmade products from salvaged materials and crochet threads. She also has a natural sense of leadership, which he is eager to further develop.

In her free time, Guech-Léus enjoys local tourism, listening to music, reading, and spending quality time with her family. These activities help him stay connected to her roots and recharge for the work ahead.
