Mikerline Régis, born in Cap Haïtien, now resides in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. A proud Haitian, Mikerline is deeply inspired by the society in which she lives, despite its challenges. She views the difficult circumstances around her as motivation to pursue greater goals—not just for herself, but for the betterment of her community. Mikerline is driven to make a positive impact and help restore a paralyzed society still striving for progress.
Education and Work
Mikerline has diverse interests and professional experiences. She chose diplomacy as a career to improve her interpersonal relationships and communication skills. As a result, she’s developed confidence in her ability to negotiate and build strong professional networks, a skill she sees as an essential part of her personal development.
Mikerline’s greatest accomplishment so far is becoming the second runner-up in a Miss contest, an experience that taught her the importance of perseverance. She’s also immersed herself in fashion and photography through her association with the “Utopia” photography studio, where she transforms her poses into works of art.
Hobbies and Passions
One of Mikerline’s lifelong passions is dance. Having joined a Latin dance school that practices salsa, bachata, and merengue, she’s determined to build a career in the vibrant and expressive world of dance. Mikerline also has a strong connection to cosmetology. Her mother, Margareth Pierre Louis, introduced her to the field, where she has developed her skills and adaptability. Mikerline aims to continue growing in the profession and make a lasting impact by helping others feel confident and beautiful.
Mikerline advocates for gender equality and women’s empowerment, particularly in a society that often marginalizes them. With her creative vision and strong sense of purpose, Mikerline is poised to make a lasting impression on Haitian society.
Future Goals and Projects
Mikerline wants to start a small business that sells essential accessories for women and men. She believes starting gradually will allow her to build a successful venture. She also aims to create a program that helps Haitian youth set goals, develop their knowledge, and overcome challenges to provide them with the skills they need to thrive.
Through her mentoring program, Mikerline hopes to share her experiences, knowledge, and advice. She says the initiative will benefit youth and contribute to her personal growth.
Cultural Advocacy and Personal Passions
As a Haitian, Mikerline is passionate about dancing compas, which she sees as a way to express herself through movement. She says dancing is the best form of communication and allows her to connect deeply with her heritage.
In addition to her love for music and dance, Mikerline enjoys reading to educate herself and enrich her vocabulary. She’s also an avid fan of movies and TV series, which she uses as a source of creative inspiration.
