Rebecca King: A Trailblazer in Digital Marketing and Cultural Empowerment

By Martine St. Hilaire

Rebecca King is a vibrant and dynamic woman who continues to make waves in digital marketing and social media while passionately advocating for Haitian culture. Born and raised in Miami, Rebecca has carved out a path defined by resilience, creativity, and an unyielding commitment to community. Her work is a testament to her passion for storytelling and empowerment.

Rebecca’s inspiration is rooted in her admiration for people such as Issa Rae and Tyler Perry, who defied expectations and overcame adversity. These stars and others have influenced her perspective on success and perseverance. Like Rebecca, these figures have turned challenges into opportunities, a trait that resonates deeply with her.

I admire anyone who beat the odds,” Rebecca says, emphasizing that the struggles of those who have come out on top motivate her to keep pushing forward. This mindset is evident in her career trajectory, where she has consistently navigated obstacles with grace and determination.

Rebecca’s Haitian background is central to her worldview. “Being Haitian fosters a colorful worldview characterized by passion, perseverance, and resilience,” she explains. This perspective has empowered her to see challenges not as setbacks but as opportunities for growth and deepened her commitment to community and solidarity.

Haitian culture, with its rich history of defiance in the face of hardship, has instilled in Rebecca a strong sense of pride and responsibility. She views her cultural heritage as a powerful force that shapes her work and shapes how she connects with others, particularly within the Haitian diaspora.

Rebecca’s academic journey took her to the top of the historically black Spelman College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Her time at Spelman was marked by academic success and commitment to her Haitian roots. She proudly founded the college’s first Haitian Club, a space for Haitian students to celebrate their culture and build community.

Professionally, Rebecca has thrived as a Social Marketing Manager at an automotive company, where she oversees paid advertising and social media campaigns. She also handles social media for clients and creates content as an influencer and model. She enjoys her role but envisions a future where she can focus more on social branding, marketing consulting, and producing content that reflects her cultural heritage.

Rebecca has an impressive list of accomplishments. She relaunched her YouTube channel after a four-year hiatus, and one standout project was a dating show that garnered over 100,000 views within its first month. Her social media expertise has helped businesses grow and generated over $50,000 in revenue for personal brands and coaches.

Rebecca has ambitious goals for the upcoming year. She plans to expand her platform through her dating show while launching a podcast and producing content for her “Haitian Story Time” channel, which aims to inspire and educate youth about Haitian culture.  Rebecca is excited to create more Haitian-based content on YouTube. “I plan to make content that is by us and for us,” she emphasizes.

Rebecca’s commitment to her community goes beyond content creation and social media. She mentors and volunteers with local Haitian girls, introduces them to different career opportunities, and provides support and guidance. Rebecca hopes to inspire the younger generation to continue this cycle of mentorship and community-building.

One of Rebecca’s greatest passions is supporting Haitians facing financial challenges, particularly in places like Little Haiti in Miami. She encourages others to attend city meetings and support initiatives like the Little Haiti Revitalization Trust, which aims to preserve and strengthen Haitians who face economic and cultural pressures.

When asked about her favorite aspect of being Haitian, Rebecca lights up. She thinks it’s remarkable how wherever you find one Haitian, you’re likely to discover more. Despite the troubles that plague Haiti, the resilience and unity of its people continue to inspire her.

The Haitian sense of community is something she carries with her in all her professional endeavors and personal relationships. Whether bonding over Haitian cuisine, connecting through shared experiences, or working to uplift the next generation, Rebecca’s Haitian heritage is central to her identity.

Rebecca also enjoys exploring new skills and cultures through immersive experiences, particularly DIY classes that blend hands-on learning with captivating storytelling. Whether crafting something with her hands or diving into the history behind a craft, these activities add an exciting dimension to her leisure time.

Rebecca’s vision for the future is full of empowerment, creativity, and cultural celebration. She hopes to use her energy and online platform to create stories that reflect the Haitian diaspora and inspire others to pursue their dreams fearlessly. Her passion for mental health advocacy, community-building, and creative storytelling will continue to shape her work in years to come.

As she continues to grow her brand, expand her influence, and live her best life, Rebecca King is a force to be reckoned with — a trailblazer who’s determined to leave her mark on the world while uplifting the community that has given her a deep wellspring of strength.
