Randy Fils, born in Florida to both Haitian parents, has just completed his master's degree in biomedical sciences at Barry University. He is now on track to becoming one of the youngest Haitian dentists and will be starting his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in August. Passionate about raising awareness for oral cancer, Randy will also be hosting an oral cancer 5k run at Oleta State River Park in August. Despite facing stigma and false assumptions based on his Haitian heritage and the color of his skin, Randy embraces his background and sees it as a source of strength, teaching him the importance of hard work and consistency in overcoming hardships.
