My life is a movie!
I believe my story can inspire Haitians setting goals and understand the education system in the US.
I came in the US back in 2016, with just the basic English we were thought in Haiti. I lived in Florida for three months, then moved to Lafayette, Indiana where I graduated high school in 2017.
In high school, I was heavily introverted as it was only me, my little brother, and cousin that were Haitians in the school. We would runaway from American trying to speak with us because we couldn’t hear nor respond. Eventually, we got better!
In college, that’s when everything clicked and I started thinking about being strategic in my way of getting to my goals of being an Executive Director one day. I graduated with an Associate’s degree in Human Services while amassing internships such as nonprofit management, grant writing, business development, shelter intake, and case management internship along with a lot of networking and relationship building. To top it off as an introvert, I became the commencement speaker at the graduation ceremony. I was later offered the homeless ser
