I earned my degree in Business Administration, specializing in creating new businesses, in the Dominican Republic.
I am 38 years old and as of July 2022 I relocated in Florida without any papers or a clear plan of action. However, I used to dance back in Haiti and have always loved my culture. As the daughter of a "vodouizan," I have decided to embrace my truth and share my culture with the world. From my journey came the idea to create Dahomey Dance Center in 2023, The center is about educating people through our Haitian folklore classes and bringing our community together while keeping our culture alive. I have also integrated diverse dance classes for people to experience and understand that there is no age limit to dance, and you do not need to be a professional dancer to dance at Dahomey.
Dahomey Dance Center is a way for me to show the world that we are still here, still standing, and we want to live. We want to change the way the world sees us, be united, and most importantly, change negative narratives and conceptions about "Voodooism".
