I would like to be a apart of Haiti Open because it represents what is very special to me, the pride and culture of our country! I remember being featured on the Palm Beach Post newspaper for Haitian day in elementary school (you know when being Haitian “wasn’t so cool ”), omg I felt like the most LIT kid ever. Although born in America, living in predominantly Haitian town allowed for me to experience our love, resilience, community and courage! I hope with me being featured, it would help highlight different body shapes of women who aren’t typically represented in our community or seen on the forefront. We’re Haitian so the sexiness comes naturally but I would love to see the shift of perspective on what it means to be “sexy” when it comes to plus size bodies. Being Haitian is recognizing who you are, loving who you are and taking pride in it. That’s how we grow and conquer!
