In a time of such disruption in our home country and talks of immigration. I stand as a reminder of the hard work and perseverance of our people. My parents have both passed away, but I will never forget the sacrifice. My father attempted twice, long journeys to the US to change the future of his family and generations to come. He and immigrant, became a citizen, home, and business owner. Dozens of people have been blessed with a new life because of him. I always pay the respect to my people as a healthcare professional. In the ICU many of times especially with language barriers, families struggle to understand the gravity of illness of their loved ones. I am always proud to be a connection for Haitian families during such a tough time. I've sort of struggled writing this as there are so many with greater impacts in our community, but I was tagged 🙂 so why not give it a shot. Thank you.
