My name is Dardgera Louis. I’m 20 years old woman born in Haiti, December 4, 2004. I moved to the Dominican Republic after 2010 Haiti’s earthquake with my mom to look for a better quality of life. My mom, is my inspiration of what a real resilient and strong woman is. She taught me everything I know and I’m who I am, all because of her (a confident and strong young woman). I moved to USA 3 years ago for college and to work hard towards becoming a professional, and I have been overcoming every circumstances no matter how bad or good it is since I was 17. I believe that I should be on the cover of Haiti Open to show all the young ladies (and older ladies who are working hard towards success), that as woman, we are strong enough to become who we want to become. It can be hard, we can cry, we can be discouraged sometimes; but we God by our side and resilience, we can do more that we could ever believe we could. I’m speaking up for all these women, all these have suffered abuse, assault or any type of violation of their rights as human being.
