My name is Stave-Been François and I’m a proud Haitian woman who was born and raised in Haiti before moving to the United States at the age of 16. My roots, values, and sense of identity have always been deeply grounded in my culture and community. Since coming to the U.S., I’ve dedicated myself to supporting and uplifting the Haitian community, especially in Somerville, Massachusetts. Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of advocating for Haitian voices, connecting families to vital resources, and creating spaces where our culture is celebrated and preserved. I believe that being featured on the cover of Haiti Open Magazine would be a powerful way to highlight the contributions of Haitian women in the diaspora—especially young leaders who are committed to building bridges between generations and across communities. This cover would not just be about me—it would be about representation, visibility, and honoring the resilience of our people. I hope to inspire other young Haitian women to lead with pride, courage, and authenticity.
