To me, being on the cover of this Haitian magazine isn’t just about visibility; It’s about voice, representation and connections. Haiti‘s history is rich with numerous stories and symbolisms of our resilient continuously withstanding throughout our history. from Catherine Flon sewing our first flag to our revered tradition of Soup Joumou, eaten every Jan 1 to signify freedom and independence  . Standing on that cover means stepping into those stories, while sharing a bit of mine.
I want people, especially young Haitians to open that magazine and see themselves, their heritage, their strength. It’s deeper than a photo; it’s a celebration of who we are, how far we’ve come, and how much farther we can go. As us Haitians would say “Men anpil, chay pa lou”!
