🖊 About Me & Why I Want to Be on the Cover of Haiti Open
My name is Nephertary. I’m a 23-year-old Haitian woman who uses art as a way to connect—with myself, with others, and with the deeper stories of where we come from. I’m a painter, yes, but more than that, I’m someone who believes in the power of culture, vulnerability, and shared experience.
In the past few years, I’ve had the chance to be part of exhibitions, create work that opens conversations about identity, consumption, healing, and memory—but also to listen. I ask questions. I start projects that are fueled by the voices of others, whether it’s through community storytelling, personal confessions, or the everyday truths we carry. My work isn’t just about creating—it’s about responding to the world around me and finding meaning with others in it.
I want to be on the cover of Haiti Open not just for what I do, but for what I represent: a generation of young Haitians who are choosing to stay curious, stay open, and keep building—even when the tools feel limited. We’re not waiting
