My name is Shana Ferdinand and I would love to be on the cover of Haiti Open and represent all of the Haitian women and even men out there because I feel like I’m the epitome of Haitian resilience. I’ve been sick all of my adult hood, almost died three times within a 7 year span, one having a tube put in my lung wide awake in order to still be here for my two boys. I haven’t let my soufrance take away my resilience or purpose from me but I feel that aside from Bondyé himself, the 1804 blood that runs through me is going to make me accomplish my purpose while I’m here. Haiti Open will also greatly impact that. I love to help people, even when I don’t have much because what I’ve been through, I haven’t had experience empathy so what I haven’t received has became well known to me to where I demonstrate the biggest example of “treat people how you’d wish you were treated”. Besides the money helping me and my situation, I’d love to benefit others and help grow the Haitian community with the platform Haiti Open would help me obtain.
