I, Dr. Steven M. Jacques, deserve to be on the cover hot Haitians 100 because of the resilience and determination that brought me to where I am today. Growing up, I watched my mother slowly lose her battle to Lupus. My father was left raising threes kids; my sisters and I. Later on find out one my sisters currently have lupus. I’ve learned to stay out of trouble by learning to read and write music in elementary which lead to me being drum major in middle school. In high school, I decided to put all the instruments down to play football and work two jobs. I graduated high school number 13 in my class and over $10,000 in scholarships. In May 2018, I graduated with my bachelors in science and enrolled into my doctorate program for January 2020 semester. While in my doctorate program, I started up my own renovation company, “Hands of Gold, LLC” where I renovated multiple offices and homes. In 2022, I graduated from my physical therapy program and began to practice physical therapy. In 2024, I was recognized by my university under the award of 30 under 30.
