My name is Marcus Merizier. I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and raised in New York since I was 3 years old. I am thankful for my upbringing in a Haitian household and I still maintain strong ties to my culture. Growing up, I always felt different from my peers and colleagues. There was a language barrier as I spoke Creole at home, French at church, and English at school. Over the years I was able to immerse myself with my peers and get a better understanding of the world that I live in. It wasn’t until high school that I was able to truly explore and understand myself. I started to get involved into different non profit organizations, started to get involved in the modeling industry and I grew a love and passion for aviation throughout the years and I am taking the necessary steps for me to become a pilot. Despite the world distancing itself from Haiti, I only grew closer to my roots. I dedicated myself to learning more about Haitian culture, history, and the current state of the country.
