I am what we call a proud and vibrant Haitian woman. In a world where they think of us as less than what we are and like to categorize us and reduce us to a poor nation that kills each other, I personally think that it is important to show who Haitians are really about.
We are more than what they portray of us in the media. We are educated, talented, resilient, strong, powerful and beautiful. Oh, AND we can dress up baby!! We are exactly what we think we are. When I walk into a room, people notice. I want to be part of this project because I want people to pay attention to us, I want them to notice. They might need to take notes! 😉
