Cynthia "Chef Thia" Verna is a Haitian-born culinary powerhouse known for her passion, expertise in Caribbean and Haitian cuisine, and her radiant, unforgettable smile. She began her journey at age 17, working in her mother’s restaurant in Haiti. After studying at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute, she worked at prestigious establishments like the Ritz-Carlton and earned global recognition, representing Haiti at events worldwide. Chef Thia is a trailblazer, winning the People’s Choice Award at the Embassy Chef Challenge in 2017, and being honored with Cynthia Verna Day in North Miami for her contributions to the culinary world.

She co-hosted the Caribbean cooking series *Taste the Islands*, authored the bestselling cookbook *50 Favorite Haitian Recipes*, and appeared on *No Passport Required* and *Ludo Can't Cook*. Chef Thia also founded her spice line and published two cookbooks, including a memoir about overcoming sexual assault.
