Hi !
I’m Keren, but I like to be called Nickey…let’s see it as my artist name. I say artist because that’s how I see myself. Not just in terms of talents and abilities – which I have tons of – but also in terms of how I choose to live my life. I’m an artist because I choose to be the one who hold the paintbrush over my world and future. This may seem rather dull and obvious to some, but being able to say these words with such faith, fervor and conviction today has been quite a journey for me. From law student, in the grip of severe depression, almost anorexic, to Theater Arts student, student athlete in over 3 categories (basketball, volleyball, softball) in the space of 2 years : There could be a lot to say about that. During those two years, I rebuilt and redesigned my person. I learned to embrace and value myself… along with my dreams and aspirations.
I see, in my hustle, the embodiment of the Haitian pride and resilience.
