Born to two Haitian parents in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida, my journey has been marked by both adversity and triumph. At a tender age, my family faced the challenge of my father's diagnosis of schizophrenia, which cast a shadow over our lives. Despite this, my father's perseverance led him to secure a position as a plane engineer at American Airlines, providing for our family's needs.
However, as time passed, the weight of mental illness took its toll, leaving my mother to shoulder the responsibility of caring for four children on her own. Amidst the tumult, she exhibited remarkable courage, orchestrating our escape from an abusive environment to find safety and solace.
Witnessing my mother's unwavering resolve ignited within me a deep appreciation for the resilience ingrained in our Haitian heritage. Turning to music as a form of release , I found solace in songwriting, channeling my experiences into melodies that resonate with others.
