Good Morning! My name is Jacques Jean-Mary. I would like to enter the Hot 100 Haiti Open Contest because of the beautiful opportunity to uplift the Haitian community in a positive light through highlighting them and their achievements. Haitians aren’t represented enough in the media or entertainment industry which leads into my next point. I recently graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting. I chose to be an actor because I love storytelling and there aren’t a lot of Haitian actors I know of. I made the bold choice to pursue a profession where the odds are highly stacked against me, however, it is my passion. If provided the opportunity to progress further in the contest, I would love to meet, interact and network with entertainment industry leaders in the field of my choice. Given that an opportunity like this was not provided to my immigrant Haitian parents I would like to take a chance and try my luck. Thank you for your time and consideration.
