My name is Jeadine Smith and I am a Haitian American from Ft.Lauderdale Florida. I was born and raised here and unfortunately have never gotten a chance to visit Haiti at all, however, that never stopped me from fully immersing myself in the culture itself. Both of my parents were born and raised in Haiti and came to New York at the very young ages of about 16 years old. I am a model and have been modeling since the age of 21 and danced konpa professionally for the past 3 years. From then I have done a few fashion shows, featured in the short film "Konpa" which premieres at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and have also featured in Phyllisia Ross' music video "Wap Betize". The reason why I would like to be chosen to be on the cover of Haiti Open is because I would love to share my story with the world and also be an inspiration to other young Haitian Americans like myself. I want to show them that as long as you have faith in God, have goals in place and you are passionate about what you love to do, there is no limitation on the success life has in store for them.
