As an immigrant and a mother a three, I faced numerous challenges in my quest to be become the best version of myself. Although I grew up in a pleasant environment in Haiti, I struggled with adversity, racism, and financial hardships when I came to the United States. Despite facing these troubles, I had to rise above them and make a life for myself and my children. I come from a culture that not only works hard, but perseveres when things get difficult to handle. My parents instilled in me the value of perseverance so I had to model for my children as well. I overcame my obstacles and went on to become a nurse practitioner, allowing to help those around me. I not only thank God for getting me this far, but I thank my culture as well. Being haitian has given me the ability to remain a strong individual and I owe it to my ancestors to continue pushing forward. God has blessed me and now it is my job to bless others in return. My treacherous journey and glorious achievements has given me reason to believe that I would be a great fit for this magazine.
